The University of Kansas 는 30,000여명의 학생이 재학중인 미국 캔자스 주에서 가장 규모가 큰 연구중심 종합 주립 대학이자 캔자스 주의 플래그쉽 대학 (Flagship University) 입니다. 교직원의 93% 이상이 박사 학위를 가지고 있을 만큼 학구적인 색채가 강한 학교이며 특히 학술 연구와 교육에 강한 연구중심 대학들의 모임인 AAU (Association of American Universities) 의 미국 60개교의 회원교로 명성이 높습니다.
1866년에 설립 되었으며 200개가 넘는 전공을 제공하고 있으며 넓은 부지의 캠퍼스는 학생들이 4년 동안 학업에 매진할 수 있도록 다양한 편의시설 및 기숙사를 갖추고 있습니다. 도시경영, 공공행정, 심리학 등은 미국내에서 상위권을 유지합니다. 캔자스 대학교에서 가장 인기있는 전공은 경영학 계열 전공입니다. 많은 학생들이 경영학 전공을 위해서 캔자스 대학교로 진학하고 있습니다. 또한 우수한 교육관련 프로그램과 그 중 미국 내 탑에 속하는 특수교육학과, 의학계결의 의학, 간호학, 보건학, 물리치료학 등이 제공되고 있습니다. 비즈니스 전공은 미국내 60위권, 공학 계열 전공은 70위권 이며 재학생 및 졸업생들이 학교에 대한 자부심이 상당히 높습니다. 13개의 다른 단과대학 내에 190개 이상의 학부 전공이 개설되어 있습니다. 2016년 노벨 평화상을 수상한 콜롬비아 대통령 Juan Santos 와 Google Earth 의 개발자인 Brian McClendon 을 비롯한 전 세계 유명 기업의 CEO를 많이 배출하였습니다. The University of Kansas Undergraduate Accelerator Program 캔자스 대학교에서는 다이렉트 입학 외에도 국제학생을 위한 입학 프로그램을 제공하고 있습니다. Undergraduate Accelerator Program 은 집중영어수업과 Academic Skils Development 그리고 Academic Coursework가 결합된 국제학생을 위한 맞춤 1학년 프로그램입니다. 고등학교 성적이 조금 부족하거나 SAT 준비가 안되고 영어 점수가 낮은 학생, 혹은 해외 유학 경험이 없는 국제학생들이 학교와 수업에 잘 적응 하면서 좋은 성과를 올릴 수 있는 프로그램으로 학교의 다양한 서포트를 잘 활용하여 1학년을 마치면 기본적으로 College of Liberal Arts 2학년으로 진학을 하게 되며 그 외의 전공으로 입학 지원을 할 수 있습니다. 영어능력에 따라 학기가 학기가 달라지며 학기별 커리큘럼은 아래 참고 해주세요.
